Pastoral Epistles I – (MIN 404)
Welcome & Introduction
This course is part one of a two-part series introducing the Pastoral Epistles. The term Pastoral Epistles has been assigned to designate the letters written by Paul to Timothy (at Ephesus) and Titus (at Crete). These letters contained instructions for the care of the churches Paul had commissioned them to pastor.
Min-404 Is limited to the letter designated “1st Timothy” and explains Paul’s purpose for the letter which is threefold.
(1) Paul exhorts Timothy concerning his personal life and ministry. (2) Paul encourages Timothy to defend the purity of the Gospel and to protect the truths of the Gospel of Christ from the influences of false teachers; and (3) he instructs Timothy regarding various problems and matters concerning the church at Ephesus.
